Elisa Middleton : [email] Hey Guys, I'm Elisa, the president for the next year. :-) (08/09) I live in Auckland, and am a huge believer in having lots of fun!!! Life's there to be lived, so make the most out of every opportunity. I wish you all a fantastic year, (it's definitely going to be one for the club) and if you want to contact me, please do not hesitate.
Secretary
Megan Rush-Reed : [email] Kia Ora all! I’m Megan, mostly known as Megz. I am going to be the new Secretary this year for the club and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’ve just finished school and looking forward to starting a brand new leg of my life! I have a big passion for Outdoor Education and Love Surf Life Saving. Don’t be scared to contact me, I’m always happy to help.
Treasurer/Rosterer
Tim Allott: [email] Hi everyone! My name's Tim Allott and I'm the new Rosterer and Treasurer for this 2008/9-year. I live in Christchurch and am currently hard at work on my Bachelor of Design. This year I'm really excited about this Rosterer role and hope to get as many of you back on the boat as possible! So if you're interested in getting back on the boat, or just want to say hi, drop me a line.
North Island Rep
Xinran Chen : [email] Bonjour! I’m Xinran, but you may call me Half Pint :D and I’m the Northern Contact for the 08/09 year! I’m a Year 11 at St Cuthbert's College in Auckland and I love a lot of things - dancing, swimming, skiing, horse riding, laser strike, sailing, movies, music, playing the piano, partying, and shopping! My friends describe me as a hard out dancer, scientific genius, pro artist, noble gas, and short. I’ve learnt not to argue with that last one :P because a) sometimes people just can’t help it, and b) its true.
I’m going to be looking after the northern regions and their ACs, organise regional, North Island, and inter-island activities and reunion ’09 with Claire. Going to be busy with the MRP too as well as all the other services we could do and the f-u-n-draising! So please give me a yell if you have any questions about what’s going on in activities, regions, and services in the North Island! À bientôt!
South Island Rep
Claire Taylor: [email] My name's Claire, I'm the Southern Contact, and in my third year at the University of Otago, studying a Bachelor of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts in Language (German) and Linguistics. Enjoying it greatly, and hope to get over to Germany some time!
Random piece of information.. I'm afraid of water, yet love to Sail. I'm afraid of heights, yet find there nothing better than there being
several meters between myself and the deck.
Schools Coordinator: Julie Blommaert
Julie Blommaert: [email] Hey! I'm Julie Blommaert, but you can call me Jellybean. I'm a very outgoing, sometimes random person, but I'm easy to get along with. I like a challenge and I'm sure there'll be lots of those throughout the year. I will really try my best to make this a successful year of schools visits and do my best to bring in some new ideas for this role. Finding speakers will be a bit of a challenge, so if you're interested pleas email me. I'm glad I got this chance to give something back to the Spirit and I also get a chance to introduce people to a great way to spend 10 days and learn heaps more than you ever would at school for that same amount of time.
I'm sure this year will be heaps of fun for the club and I hope I get heaps of people that want to do a few visits.
I’m ecstatic to be in the role as National Schools Co-ordinator I just hope I can achieve my goals and to make an impact in other peoples lives, as the Spirit of NZ has changed my life forever.
